How spatial data is transforming industries

Spatial data is rapidly becoming a cornerstone of decision-making across industries, offering new ways to assess risk, optimize operations, and unlock business value. Our research provides a deep dive into the current landscape of spatial data adoption, highlighting the opportunities and challenges businesses face in integrating this technology.

About the Project

The The Digital Disruption Chair at ESSEC Business School is dedicated to exploring how emerging technologies shape industries and drive innovation. As part of this initiative, a team of Master’s students, in collaboration with Sia Partners and BNP Paribas, has undertaken an extensive research project on the integration of spatial data across different sectors.

Spatial Data Value Chain
A digital map highlights various regions with differently sized red circles, indicating concentration or intensity of certain data points, overlaid on continents such as Europe, Africa, and part of Asia. Labels in white define geographical markers including oceans and continents with faint outlines in the background.
